The Why…
Each year in the United States, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) levies fines, and in some cases criminal prosecutions for those who do not protect their students, faculty and staff. In many cases the schools have not implemented the mandatory hearing Conservation Program(s) because the were unaware of the need. Unfortunately, ignorance of the law is not a viable excuse for exposing these students, faculty and staff to damaging sound levels resulting in permanent noise induced hearing loss.
